All Blacks In Again Four Try Blitz To Start Test

All Blacks in again! Four try blitz to start test

A scintillating start by the All Blacks has set the tone for the first Bledisloe Cup test against the Wallabies in Melbourne.

The All Blacks ran in four tries in the opening 20 minutes to effectively end the contest as a spectacle, before eventually cruising to a 38-21 bonus-point victory.

After a stirring rendition of the New Zealand national anthem, the All Blacks signalled their intent from the outset, with Rieko Ioane crossing for the opening try after just three minutes.

Six minutes later, Codie Taylor barged over from close range to extend the lead, before Ioane grabbed his second after a slick backline move.

Ethan Blackadder then got in on the act, finishing off a period of sustained pressure to give the All Blacks a remarkable 28-0 lead after just 20 minutes.

The Wallabies finally got on the board through a penalty goal in the 23rd minute, but the All Blacks continued to dominate possession and territory, with Jordie Barrett adding a further penalty to make it 31-3 at halftime.

The Wallabies showed more fight in the second half, with Tom Wright scoring a try in the 49th minute to give the home crowd something to cheer about.

However, the All Blacks snuffed out any hopes of a Wallabies comeback with a try to Dalton Papalii in the 57th minute.

The Wallabies did manage to score two late tries through Folau Fainga'a and Jordan Petaia, but it was too little too late as the All Blacks held on for a comfortable victory.

The win gives the All Blacks a 1-0 lead in the three-match Bledisloe Cup series, with the second test to be played in Auckland next Saturday.
