Chelsea Women Return to WSL Top with Victory at West Ham

Goals from Guro Reiten and Lauren James Secure Crucial Win

Chelsea FC Women have regained the top spot in the Women's Super League (WSL) after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over West Ham United Women on Sunday.

The Blues took the lead in the 19th minute when Guro Reiten's free-kick found the back of the net. Lauren James doubled the advantage in the 68th minute, sealing the three points for Chelsea. The win extends Chelsea's unbeaten run in the WSL to four games.

Chelsea had to overcome a resilient West Ham side, who had their chances throughout the match. However, the Blues' defense held firm, with goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger making several crucial saves.

The victory puts Chelsea joint-top of the WSL table with Manchester City, both on 27 points. Arsenal is a point behind in third place, while West Ham remains in ninth place with 13 points.

Chelsea will be looking to continue their winning ways when they travel to Everton in their next WSL match on Saturday, October 21. West Ham will host Liverpool on the same day.
