Hari Raya Idul Fitri 2023 Tanggal

Government Announces Idul Fitri Holiday Dates for 2023

First Day of Idul Fitri on April 22, 2023

National Cuti Bersama Extended to Four Days

According to a joint decree (SKB) issued by the Indonesian government, Idul Fitri 2023 will be celebrated on April 22-23, 2023. The SKB also extends the national cuti bersama (collective leave) period for Idul Fitri to four days, from April 21 to 24, 2023.

The decision was made in consultation with religious organizations, including the Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah, which had previously announced that Idul Fitri would fall on April 21, 2023. The government's decision to align the holiday dates with the Muhammadiyah calendar ensures that the majority of the Muslim community in Indonesia will be able to celebrate Idul Fitri together.

The government's announcement has been welcomed by many Indonesians, as it provides ample time for families and friends to gather and celebrate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. However, some have also expressed concern that the extended cuti bersama period could lead to traffic congestion and other travel disruptions. The government has urged the public to plan their travel arrangements carefully and to be aware of potential delays.

The government has also advised businesses and other organizations to adjust their work schedules accordingly to accommodate the holiday period. The SKB emphasizes that the cuti bersama period is not mandatory, and businesses may choose to operate as usual during this time.
