WEB European Air Charter

History

WEB European Air Charter was established as Bulgarian Air Charter in 2000 and started operations on 14 December 2000 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hemus Air Group.

The airline's first aircraft was a Boeing 737-400, registered LZ-HBA. The aircraft was leased from Hemus Air and operated primarily on charter flights to destinations in Europe and the Mediterranean.

In 2002, WEB European Air Charter acquired its first own aircraft, a Boeing 737-500, registered LZ-HBC. The aircraft was purchased from Air Malta and was used to expand the airline's operations to new destinations.

In 2004, WEB European Air Charter became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and was assigned the code BUC.

In 2005, WEB European Air Charter launched scheduled services between Sofia and London Gatwick Airport. The service was operated twice weekly using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft.

In 2006, WEB European Air Charter acquired two Airbus A320-200 aircraft, registered LZ-HBD and LZ-HBE. The aircraft were used to expand the airline's operations to new destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

In 2007, WEB European Air Charter launched scheduled services between Sofia and Brussels Airport. The service was operated twice weekly using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft.

In 2008, WEB European Air Charter acquired two Airbus A321-200 aircraft, registered LZ-HBF and LZ-HBG. The aircraft were used to expand the airline's operations to new destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

In 2009, WEB European Air Charter launched scheduled services between Sofia and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The service was operated twice weekly using a Boeing 737-500 aircraft.

Current Operations

WEB European Air Charter currently operates a fleet of 10 aircraft, including five Boeing 737-500s, two Airbus A320-200s, and three Airbus A321-200s. The airline operates to 16 countries across Europe and the Middle East.

WEB European Air Charter's main base is Sofia Airport, but it also has a secondary base at Varna Airport. The airline's main hubs are Sofia Airport and Varna Airport.
