Germany to open Euro 2024 with match against Scotland
Host nation to face Scotland in Group A opener at Munich's Allianz Arena
Kick-off scheduled for 9 pm CEST on June 14, 2024
Germany will kick off their Euro 2024 campaign with a match against Scotland in Group A at Munich's Allianz Arena on June 14, 2024.
The match will be the first of three group stage matches for Germany, who are also scheduled to face Portugal and Hungary.
"It's a difficult start," said Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann. "Scotland are a good team, but we're confident that we can get the win."
Scotland will be making their first appearance at a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup.
"We're excited to be back on the big stage," said Scotland coach Steve Clarke. "We know it will be a tough match, but we're confident that we can cause Germany some problems."
The match will be broadcast live on ZDF and in the ZDFmediathek.
