Giants Lamonte Wade Sitting Against Lefty

LaMonte Wade Jr. Out of Lineup for Giants-White Sox Game

Wade to Sit Against Lefty Corbin, Snell

Giants Option for Right-Handed Batters in Upcoming Games

San Francisco Giants first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. will not be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox, according to NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic.

Wade was previously out of the lineup on Monday against the Washington Nationals to avoid facing left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin. He will also sit out Monday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays to avoid facing Cy Young candidate Blake Snell.

With left-handed hitters Austin Slater and Mitch Haniger back from the injured list, the Giants may not need Wade to play against left-handed pitchers.

  • Wade has been out of the lineup against left-handed pitchers in three of the Giants' last four games.
  • Slater and Haniger are both strong hitters against left-handed pitchers.
  • The Giants have a right-handed-heavy lineup for their upcoming games.

Wade is batting .250 with 8 home runs and 35 RBIs this season. He has been a key part of the Giants' offense, but the team is confident that they can win without him in the lineup against left-handed pitchers.
